Responsibilities:
This role requires strong technical skills for the production of engineering drawings and development of design information to support a broad range of projects for the power and resources sectors such as power plants, refineries and mining.
Responsibilities will include:
* Assists/performs installations, enhancements and improvements to power plant process control, communications, data acquisition, low voltage electrical/electronic/ instrumentation equipment and associated hardware
* Evaluates, selects, installs and configures micro processor based devices; also designs and builds custom PLC based control
* Tests and commissions existing systems, upgrades and new facilities in conjunction with plant staff, contractors and consultants to ensure compliance with various codes and standards
* Troubleshoots, monitors and diagnoses problems in the SCADA system
* Reads, interprets and marks up schematic diagrams and documentation.
* Communicates and coordinates with plant staff, consultants, suppliers, and manufacturers, with regards to the design, installation, operation and maintenance of the PCMS system, low voltage electrical/electronic/instrumentation systems and related programs
Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
* Graduation from a recognized Electrical/ Electronic/Instrumentation Engineering Technologist Diploma Program with 3+ years experience in Instrumentation and System Controls
* Experience in the maintenance, installation and fabrication of low voltage electrical/electronics/ instrumentation equipment and systems is an asset
* Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to develop good working relationships with team members, plant staff and suppliers
* Eligible for membership in Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologist and Technicians (SASTT)
Note: There will be some travel required and short term assignments to client sites.
