Our Client, a leading furniture manufacturer is seeking a Corporate Controller to join their corporate head office in Toronto. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial data. The Corporate Controller will direct the preparation and closing of monthly consolidated financial statements and analyses, annual budgets and forecasts in addition to initiating internal and external audits. The role will be involved with corporate insurance, treasury and taxation, and will establish appropriate internal financial controls in conjunction with the CFO.

Responsibilities:

* Direct the preparation of financial statements, variance analyses and business analyses
* Work closely with the CFO in the establishment, implementation and monitoring of accounting systems, policies and procedures
* Manage and mentor an accounting team
* Provide budget information as it relates to the corporate consolidated operating budget
* Co-ordinate external audits of consolidated financial statements
* Prepare management reports to present to senior management
* Establish metrics and key indicators for management
* Manage Corporate Treasury
* Participate in other projects as assigned by management

Requirements:

* A University degree and a CGA/CMA/CA professional designation is required
* Minimum five years of progressive senior accounting/finance experience is required
* Minimum of three years in a leadership role is required
* Effective supervisory and interpersonal skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Demonstrates a team-oriented attitude and works well with and through others
* Solid analytical skills, strategic thinking and process improvement driven
* Expert applied and implementation knowledge of ERP finance modules and advanced knowledge of Windows and MS Office
* Bilingualism (English, French) an asset
