London Hydro Inc., a Local Electricity Distribution Company operating within the City of London, Ontario, is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Distribution Engineer (System Planning) and Assistant Distribution Engineer (Standards) to work in our Engineering Department.

Under the direction of a Distribution Engineer, the Assistant Distribution Engineer will be responsible for supervising electrical technicians and/or technologists to plan and design all phases of the electrical distribution system. The Assistant Distribution Engineer (System Planning) will be responsible for assisting in the creation of system planning documents including 25 yr system plan, load forecast and 4KV and 13.8 KV system plan. The Assistant Distribution Engineer (Standards) will be responsible for consulting with vendors and manufacturing representatives to investigate the availability of new products and equipment, preparing purchasing specifications, developing and updating equipment standards and specifications, and developing action plans for reliability improvement.

Both Assistant Distribution Engineers will give technical direction to technicians and GIS surveyors during preparation of drawings and specifications; prepare program and estimates of projects for the annual budget; perform studies and estimates as recommended by the Distribution Engineer or designate; prepare letters and specifications regarding customer inquires; participate in professional and technical organizations related to the electrical utilities (MEA, CSA, etc); adhere to all Occupational Health & Safety Act rules and regulations, the E&USA rule book, London Hydro work practices and London Hydro's Health & Safety Management System.

The successful candidates will have a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, eligible to be registered with the PEO as an EIT in the province of Ontario. Preference will be given to candidates with a Masters Degree in Power Engineering. Candidates must also possess a valid class G Ontario Driver's License.
