Client Information
Our client, a Fortune 500 company with global operations, is seeking 3 Finance Managers in Western Canada (based out of either Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton or Winnipeg). Each of these roles are open due to internal promotions or transfers within the organization.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting in to the Regional Director of Finance, the role will be responsible for:
* Partnering with business unit leaders and provide strategic financial/accounting support including month-end close, project reporting and analysis, pricing, revenue analysis and profitability analysis.
* Provide financial and management reporting in compliance with US GAAP, regulatory practices and company policies and procedures
* Support Project Managers in the preparation of Estimates of Completion.
* Work with the Regional Business Line Manager to develop accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
* Analyze and trend variances in the financial results. This includes comparing P&L, working capital and sales pipeline performance with operating plans, forecasts and standards. Interpret and communicate results to management team.
* Establish and maintain the necessary business controls (per SOX and company policies) in order to ensure integrity of financial information and safeguarding of assets.
* Own the closing process for all P&Ls within the Regional Business Line (expenditure reviews, revenue recognition, journal entries, monitoring variances to forecast and working with Operations on risks and opportunities)
* Ensure loss contracts are correctly identified, and that financial impacts are quantified and booked.
* Review terms and conditions of proposals/contracts to ensure that the company's interest is maintained.
* Perform various special projects as requested by management
Job Requirements
* Canadian accounting designation required (CMA preferred but will consider CGA and CA applicants with relevant experience)
* 5 to 10 years operational finance / accounting experience required
* Past experience in a professional service organization (engineering, consulting) is preferred
* Experience in Oracle and/or Cognos is an asset
* Must be able to demonstrate the ability to truly partner with operations and influence their decisions
* Strong report writing and presentation skills required
* Must have flexibility to occasionally work outside normal working hours to meet deadlines
* Ability to accomodate business travel (up to 25%)
Remuneration
$100,000 to $125,000
